In modern times the term carpentry is often used to describe a broad selection of different trades and skill sets from traditional carpentry (i.e. hanging doors) and bespoke joinery (i.e. hand made staircases) to wood turning and cabinet making. New technologies and fashions have also pushed many traditionally trained carpenters into fields such as shop fitting and timber framing.
DT Carpentry & Joinery is a traditional carpentry and joinery business based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The business was formed in 2008 by Darran Tee, a carpenter/joiner with many years hands-on experience in the trade.
Starting in September 1981 with H Hollands of Newmarket, Darran served a three year apprenticeship at the West Suffolk Collage achieving credit, credit distinction.
Trained and qualified as a traditional carpenter Darran is registered with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and with the Guild of Master Craftsmen.
